If DHCP is required to provide IPv6 addresses, the DHCPv6 process is started. Type cmd in the search box from the Start menu.
Windows 7 has features that depend on IPv6, OS X probably does as well.
Then right-click on cmd(Command Prompt) from the top result and choose Run as administrator. In fact, there is no need to even recompile the source files. I had used IPv6 smoothly on former win8 system. For more information, see Access to the Internet. Though some companies have already started replacing their clients’ IPv4 addresses with IPv6, both will continue to coexist in the following years.
